RCF at Stadia Expo 2026: Audio Solutions for Sports Venues

Bringing together venue operators, architects, consultants, system integrators, and technology suppliers, Stadia Expo focuses on the design, specification, and operation of modern sports venues. The exhibition provides a setting to explore audio systems for stadiums and arenas, where coverage requirements and environmental conditions vary across seating areas and other audience spaces.

Using St. Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland, as a case study, RCF and Audioconsulting AG demonstrate how they design and implement a professional sound reinforcement system for a UEFA Category 4 stadium. The presentation explores the project’s technical and acoustic challenges, the design and integration of RCF HL line arrays, and the requirements for powerful, reliable, and uniform sound coverage throughout the stadium.

The GTX 10i is a two-way line array module developed for medium- to large-scale installed sound applications. It combines two neodymium woofers with a neodymium compression driver and a 110° × 15° 4PATH waveguide, providing a modular approach to coverage for larger audience areas.

The X 40 and X 08 offer two point-source options for fixed indoor and outdoor installations. The X 40 features a 110° × 60° asymmetric horn suited to audience areas at different distances, including raked seating. The more compact X 08 provides constant 100° × 100° coverage. Both models feature structural polyurethane enclosures, aluminum grilles, and IP55 protection.
