RCF Precision in Action at Bautz Festival

Lüdenscheid, Germany – The Bautz Festival 2024 was a highlight of the German festival season, drawing more than 15,000 enthusiastic attendees and featuring an impressive lineup of artists. Reggae superstar Gentleman, German rap icon Kool Savas, and The Donots captivated the audience with performances that blended dynamic musical energy with exceptional technical execution. The festival not only delivered outstanding musical experiences but also set high standards in sound quality, thanks to advanced audio configurations on two stages, each equipped with RCF speakers.

At the main stage, Schmalenbach Veranstaltungstechnik e.K. provided an extensive RCF-based system that met the demanding requirements of a large-scale event. The setup integrated an HDL 50-A 4K main line array, SUB 9007-AS dual 21-inch subwoofers for robust bass reinforcement, and supplementary units of HDL 30-A and HDL 26-A, respectively used for front-fill and delay towers. Additionally, a dedicated delay speaker section ensured optimal sound distribution across the venue.

Similarly, at the festival’s secondary stage, Livesound Music GmbH established another comprehensive RCF system that maintained the festival’s high technical standards. The system featured TTL 33-A main line array units, accompanied by SUB 9007-AS subwoofers and HDL 30-A front-fill units, while specialized TT 22-A speakers contributed to complete and even sound coverage.

The seamless integration of RDNet technology enabled quick, real-time adjustments, ensuring that any operational challenges were met effectively. Both resident sound engineers praised the system’s flexibility and reliability, highlighting its ability to adapt instantly to the performance environment and deliver flawless audio throughout the event.

The technical excellence of the festival was further underscored by on-site feedback from professionals. Christopher Schmalenbach from Schmalenbach Veranstaltungstechnik e.K. states, “I noted the unparalleled flexibility and performance of the RCF system, emphasizing the critical role of RDNet in ensuring precise control over the sound parameters.” Rainer Scharfe of Livesound Music GmbH echoed these remarks, stressing that “the system’s real-time adaptability and superior sound quality had significantly contributed to the overall success of the event”.
