RCF NXL 44-A MK2 in the field with Brisbane Sound Group

Across these varied environments, BSG regularly turns to the RCF NXL 44-A MK2 active two-way array as part of its rental inventory.

The NXL 44-A MK2 is an active two-way column array system designed for bands, DJs, clubs, and rental applications. Its 2,100 W Class-D amplifier drives three 10-inch neodymium woofers and a 3-inch titanium/neodymium compression driver on a waveguide. The system provides 100° × 25° constant-directivity coverage, reaches a maximum sound pressure level of 135 dB, and offers a frequency response extending from 45 Hz to 20 kHz.

The enclosure can operate as a stand-alone system, be flown, or be coupled with a second NXL 44-A MK2 to extend vertical coverage. These configuration options allow BSG to deploy the same platform across a range of production requirements.
“Since adding the RCF NXL 44-A speakers to our inventory, they’ve quickly become a favorite among both our dry-hire customers and staff,” notes the BSG Hire department team. “These boxes have been deployed across a wide range of events—community gatherings, small festivals, church youth camps, and pub rock gigs. They’ve even featured as stage-side fills on major festival stages such as Big Skies Festival and Sounds of Rock.”

The NXL 44-A MK2 incorporates RCF’s proprietary FiRPHASE and Bass Motion Control processing. FiRPHASE is designed to optimize phase response, while Bass Motion Control manages low-frequency transducer behavior without relying on conventional high-pass filtering. For rental and touring applications, the system is housed in a Baltic birch plywood cabinet and provides eight M8 rigging points and eight Quick Lock points.

The system also incorporates IP-rated powerCON TRUE1 TOP power input and output connections. When additional low-frequency extension and output are required, the NXL 44-A MK2 can be combined with subwoofers to create a full-range system for applications including medium-sized concerts and DJ systems.
