TT+ Audio Powers the Beat of Cornetto Battiti Live

BARI, ITALY — Now in its 23rd edition, Cornetto Battiti Live—the premier summer music event by Radio Norba—has once again transformed the Adriatic town of Molfetta into a national stage. Broadcast on Canale 5 to more than eight million viewers per episode, the five-night event brought together the biggest names in Italian pop with a world-class production powered by TT+ Audio’s GTX system.
STS Communication provided full production, delivering a cohesive AV setup spanning the main performance stage and the surrounding areas. Central to the sonic success was the deployment of TT+ Audio’s modular GTX system, engineered to deliver both precision and power in complex urban environments.
“From day one, we saw a shared commitment to building something lasting with RCF,” says Alberto Azzola, General Manager of STS Communication. “When you launch a new brand in this industry, it’s not easy to make it a benchmark in just a few years—but we believed in the vision. TT+ Audio’s architecture provided us not only with speed and reliability in deployment, but also the headroom and fidelity necessary to meet the artistic demands of this production. The feedback from engineers and guest artists has been unanimous: this system performs.”
For STS, the move into TT+ Audio marked a deliberate investment in scaling their high-format capabilities. “We’ve been a full-production company since 1984, but in 2024, we knew it was time to elevate our audio offering,” adds Domenico Carnuccio, Head of Sound at STS. “We debuted our full GTX rig at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monza, covering over five kilometers of track. That’s when we realized that the GTX could scale, travel fast, and deliver uncompromised quality.”
Carnuccio and his team evaluated the market extensively before landing on GTX: “What stood out was the rigging efficiency, the integrated DSP, and remote control. Once we heard the system, we had no doubts. It’s not just a great-sounding box—it’s a complete ecosystem.”
For system designer Roberto Santacaterina, the challenge was clear: deliver even, high-impact coverage in a large, reflective Italian piazza. The solution: two hangs of 14 GTX 12 line array modules per side—28 total—supported by 24 GTS 29 subwoofers in cardioid stacks configured as a tightly focused arc. Eight GTX 10 cabinets provided front fill, while four TTW 4-A units reinforced entrance coverage.
Two delay towers down the boulevard extended the coverage with eight GTX 10 units per side, each paired with eight GTS 19G subwoofers for deep low-frequency extension. SPL was maintained within ±2 dB from FOH to the farthest delay point. All main arrays were powered by XPS 16KD amplifiers, with fully redundant analog and digital paths.
In the Casa Battiti village—an auxiliary event area with its own programming—the setup included ten TT 10-A loudspeakers on tripods, four TTL 4-A modules for the secondary stage, eight TT 515-A compact speakers for DJ reinforcement, and six TTS 18-A subwoofers. Acoustic performances were supported by four TT 20-CXA wedges, while four more TTL 4-A speakers served as side-fills for the venue's entry points.
Routing and signal distribution were managed through RDNet for system control and Dante for audio transport. “The core of the rig was a Yamaha Rivage PM5, with CL5 and QL1 consoles handling the fully live shows, like Negramaro and Tiromancino,” explains Audio Coordinator, Edoardo Prioni. “We used DirectOut Prodigy interfaces to bridge Dante and MADI for the OB van’s broadcast mix. Everything was seamless.” On the RF side, twenty Shure Axient Digital wireless systems and sixteen in-ear channels provided reliable wireless performance across a demanding multi-night schedule.
